‘SAFE PLACE’ COLLECTION DRIVE

May 4-18 is our collection drive for SafePlace, a shelter for victims of rape, sexual abuse and domestic violence. A ‘wish list’ of suggested items can be found in the narthex. Questions? Contact Charlyn Bacon or Norma Smith.

GUATEMALA MISSION MEETING

On Sunday, May 4th, at 10:00 am there will be a meeting in the Conference Room for those who are interested in participating in our next Guatemala mission trip, October 16 - 26th. As in the past, our main focus will be time spent with the people of La Virgen del Rosario Lutheran Church in Ocho de Octubre, a Mayan village in rural Guatemala. Questions? VINTAGE FRIENDS SERVICE PROJECT

With world hunger at a critical stage, an appropriate service project for the Vintage Friends [retired members and friends] is another visit to the Capitol Area Food Bank for volunteer service, as we did last year.  We have a spot reserved for us on Thursday, May 15, at 9:00 a.m.  Sign up at the Welcome Center to participate in this service project.

is a perpetual fund that receives gifts of cash or property, invests those gifts, and uses the generated earnings for benevolence.

Help Katrina Victims Rebuild Their Homes

Only 15% of homes destroyed in Hurricane Katrina have been rebuilt in Biloxi, Mississippi. Join other adults (18 and older) from Shepherd of the Hills on a Thrivent & Habitat for Humanity mission trip June 15-21. All materials, tools, training, accommodations and meals provided. Cost: $249 for Thrivent members, and $349 for non-Thrivent members (transportation to Biloxi not included).
