These exploratory posts are for you and your family, you and a friend or you to question, shed, explore, share or reimagine your life with God and others.
Faith formation is no longer delivered in a “one size fits all” manner. Although we strongly encourage people to shape their faith within the life of a congregation, our reality involves travel, sports, technology, global expansion and changing patterns of family life. Also, people are at different places in their spiritual life. While some are just beginning and appreciate tradition, others have been connected to the faith for many years and growth occurs by pushing the boundaries.
In spite of the multiple challenges, the importance of God and exploring spirituality is one thing that has not wavered for many people. While we may mourn the loss of the “old way of doing things”, we welcome the creative energy of God’s Spirit to work in and through us as we travel and work and in spite of the dominance of sports on Sunday mornings.
As new “God venues” open up, we can toggle back and forth between going to the grounding center that the church provides and bringing the grounding center to our life “on the go”. As we drop our preconceived notions, God is no longer compartmentalized, but smack dab in the middle of our lives.
What is the result? A vibrant and active life of love, compassion, and hospitality for the benefit of all humanity.
