Our compost bin is open for use in the rear parking lot, close to the labyrinth.  Acceptable Items:  vegetable and fruit peelings, tea bags and coffee grounds, dead flowers and leaves, grass clippings, shredded paper (not glossy)  Unacceptable Items:  meat, bread, dog and cat waste, big chunky wood, lime, weeds, ash from charcoal or anything non-biodegradeable.

SOTH Food Pantry

Austin Police Department Collections: Teddy Bears and Phones

  • Teddy Bears: New teddy bears placed in one or two gallon zipped plastic bags are collected and donated to Austin area police.  The bears bring comfort to children of domestic disturbances and traumatic incidences.  Pastor Heidi, a chaplain for the Austin Police Department, will make sure the teddy bears are delivered into the squad cars of Austin police officers.

  • Cell Phones: We are collecting old cell phones to be given to Victim Services of the Austin Police Department. These phones are  reprogrammed and given to victims of domestic violence for emergency purposes. Please consider donating your old phone to help protect the life of another. Drop the phone off in the wooden treasure chest labeled “old cell phones” on the small table in the narthex, next to the library.
